Guided, instruction & coaching from a novice through to developing your lead climbing & mountain craft.

Essential Climbing specialises in giving you an experience that develops you and your safety skills to move you forward on your outdoor journey.

Where?

Based in the beautiful Peak District, you could be rock climbing on the famous gritstone edges that you may have walked along, or the hidden gems of the steep limestone crags that have been etched into climbing folklore.

I am now offering navigation courses. These can be run in the Peak, North Wales and Lake District.

If you are looking for basic understanding of map and compass or need to refresh skills I can run days suited for you.

What can Essential Climbing do for you?

  • My qualification as a RCDI (Rock Climbing Development Instructor), allows me to teach anywhere in the UK providing the venue is non-tidal, easy access from a road.

    I can also take you up any mountain in the UK in summer conditions.

  • I love teaching in the Clwyd area in Wales and along the North Wales coast where there is plenty of sport climbing.

    I also love taking people up mountains in Lake District and the Eryri (Snowdonia).
